The top should not be overworked, Linda.  Use a pastry cutter to cut the butter in.  If you use your hands it will melt the butter and not get nice and crisp.  Also, my bread wasn&#039;t dense at all. It sounds like you may have not had a lot of moisture?  It can be hard to know without more details to know what went wrong.]]></description>
