Homemade Chocolate Cake Recipe with Easy Pumpkin Faces
Homemade Chocolate Cake Recipe is an old family recipe that's made from scratch. Nothing could be more fun or easy than making it into cute little pumpkin faces for Halloween.

Ingredients
2/3cupbutter
1 2/3cupsImperial sugar
3eggs
2cupsall-purpose flour
2/3cupRodelle cocoa
1 1/4tspbaking soda
1/4tspbaking powder
1tspkosher salt
1 1/3cupsmilk
1/2cuppeanut butter chipsI used Organic Peanutta Chips
Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray pan with non-sticking spray.
Cream butter, sugar, and eggs until fluffy. Beat on high for 3 minutes.
Reduce speed to low. Combine flour, sifted cocoa, soda, baking powder, and salt. Add dry mix alternating with the milk and mix until blended.
Fold in peanut butter chips
Fill pan 3/4 full. Bake 30 minutes or until a toothpick tested in the center comes out clean.
Cool 10 minutes and then remove from pan and cool completely.
Buttercream Frosting
Combine shortening, water, and extract into the bowl of an electric stand mixer. Blend on medium until blended and becomes shiny (up to 5 minutes).
Add powdered sugar and meringue powder. Blend until combined.
Add additional water or milk if necessary.
