This Applesauce Oatmeal bread recipe is a quick, easy and delicious. It's perfect as is or you can add nuts, raisins or other additions to your liking.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1 large eggs room temperature
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp allspice
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 3/4 cup no sugar added applesauce

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease a 9 x 5 loaf pan.
  • In the bowl of an electric stand mixer, combine sugar, eggs, oil, and vanilla. Beat to combine.
  • In a separate bowl, combine flours, baking powder, and soda, spices, and salt. Whisk to combine.
  • With the mixer running, slowly add dry ingredients, oats, and applesauce.
  • Pour the mixture into the loaf pan, and bake for 55 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Remove the bread from the oven and cool completely on a wire rack.
  • Store in an airtight container.
