Butterscotch Pecan Bars with Brown Sugar Drizzle

I'm not going to waste a special treat on something that isn't delicious. A bite of a Butterscotch Pecan Bars with a Brown Sugar Drizzle is a great treat!

Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp butter melted and cooled
  • 1 cup brown sugar I use dark
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 cup pecans chopped
  • 3/4 cup butterscotch chips

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.  Grease an 8x8" pan.
  • In the bowl of an electric mixer, cream butter and sugar together.  Add egg and vanilla.  Mix until combined.
  • In a separate bowl whisk flour, salt, and baking powder together.  Add dry ingredients to butter-sugar mixture with the mixer on low.  Add pecans and butterscotch chips and blend on low until combined.
  • Pour batter into the prepared pan.  Bake for 20 minutes.  Cool in the pan and cut into squares.
  • Store covered at room temperature.
