I'm not going to waste a special treat on something that isn't delicious. A bite of a Butterscotch Pecan Bars with a Brown Sugar Drizzle is a great treat!
In the bowl of an electric mixer, cream butter and sugar together. Add egg and vanilla. Mix until combined.
In a separate bowl whisk flour, salt, and baking powder together. Add dry ingredients to butter-sugar mixture with the mixer on low. Add pecans and butterscotch chips and blend on low until combined.
Pour batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 20 minutes. Cool in the pan and cut into squares.
Brown Sugar Glaze
Combine the brown sugar with the butter and milk in a microwave-safe bowl. Cook in the microwave for 15 to 20 seconds until melted.
Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract to the melted mixture and whisk together until the powdered sugar is completely dissolved and the glaze is smooth. Add additional powdered sugar if the glaze is too thin.
Spoon the drizzle over the top of the cooled bars.
Store covered at room temperature.
