Instructions
Preheat oven to 325 °F.
Brown bacon and remove it from the pan. Let it drain on a paper towel-lined plate. Saute onion and green pepper in bacon grease. Put the bacon and onion mixture into a large pot or Dutch oven and stir in the remaining ingredients. Bake uncovered for 1 hour or simmer on the stovetop for 30 minutes.

I've increased my beans to 5 cans for a larger group. I don't increase the brown sugar or apple pie filling. It's still sweet enough.You can substitute cooked ground sausage for pulled pork.We prefer yellow mustard over other varieties for this recipe.
