Salt the rim of a margarita glass if desired. Pour into glass. Ice is optional.
Float a small amount of anejo tequila or brandy over the top of the margarita.
Serve.
Notes
The Cointreau adds a slight sweetness to the margarita. If you like a margarita that's not sweet, eliminate the agave. If you like a sweeter margarita add more agave a little at a time. You can skip the Citronage by increasing the tequila to 2 ounces and the Cointreau to 1 ounce. Grand Marnier can be substituted for the Cointreau 1:1.
