Chocolate Thumbprint Cookies Recipe

INGREDIENTS

– butter – sugar – egg  – cream – vanilla extract – cocoa

STEP 1

In the bowl of an electric mixer, beat butter, sugar, egg yolk, cream, and vanilla together until light and fluffy, approximately 3 minutes.

In a separate bowl sift the flour, salt, and cocoa together. With the mixer on low, spoon the flour mixture in with the butter mixture until combined.

STEP 2

The batter will be thick. Cover and chill for 1 hour. Preheat the oven to 350 °F and grease baking sheets or line them with parchment paper.

STEP 3

Whip the egg white with a whisk or fork until frothy. Using a 1-tablespoon-sized scoop, scoop dough and roll it into balls.

STEP 4

Roll each ball in the egg white and then roll it in the chopped nuts. Place the cookie ball on a baking sheet and press an indentation with your thumb.
