Sour Cream Cookies Recipe

Sink your teeth into a homemade melt-in-your-mouth sour cream cookie with a crispy exterior and a soft tender center.

INGREDIENTS

– all-purpose flour – baking soda – baking powder – shortening – sugar – eggs – sour cream

STEP 1

Preheat the oven to 375 °F. Grease or line baking sheets with parchment paper. Mix the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt together.

In  the bowl of an electric mixer, add the shortening, sugar, sour cream,  vanilla extract, and lemon extract. Mix until light and fluffy,  approximately 3 minutes.

STEP 2

With the mixer on low, spoon the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Blend until completely combined. Using a 1½ tablespoon-sized scoop, scoop out the batter and roll it into balls.

STEP 3

Place the balls on a prepared baking sheet until you have 12 on a sheet. Dust them lightly with white sugar. Using a 1/4 cup measuring cup, slightly flatten each ball.
