Ingredient Notes & Tips

Letโ€™s talk about what makes these chicken bacon ranch sliders so delicious. Each ingredient plays an important role, and Iโ€™ve got some tips to help you get the best results:

Slider Rolls: Sweet Hawaiian rolls work perfectly here. Their slight sweetness balances the savory filling beautifully. Make sure to slice them horizontally while keeping them connected โ€“ this makes assembly so much easier!

Chicken: Rotisserie chicken is my secret weapon for these sliders. Itโ€™s already seasoned and saves you tons of time. Youโ€™ll need about 2 cups of chopped chicken. Leftover grilled or baked chicken works great too!

Bacon: Cook your bacon until itโ€™s crispy but not burnt. I love using thick-cut bacon for extra flavor. Pro tip: cook extra because family members tend to sneak pieces while youโ€™re assembling!

Ranch Seasoning Mix: We combine ranch seasoning mix with melted butter to make a sauce thatโ€™s added to our sliders before theyโ€™re baked and slathered over the top after theyโ€™re freshly baked.

Cheese: The Colby-Monterey Jack blend melts beautifully and has just the right amount of flavor. You could also use cheddar or pepper jack for a spicier kick.

Fresh Ingredients: Roma tomatoes add freshness and help balance the rich flavors.

How to Make Chicken Bacon Ranch Sliders

Making these sliders is easier than you might think! Hereโ€™s my step-by-step process:

  1. Preheat and prep (5 minutes): Start by preheating your oven to 350ยฐF. This temperature is perfect for melting the cheese without burning the tops. While it heats, gather all your ingredients.

  1. Make the garlic butter (2 minutes): In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with minced garlic and ranch seasoning. This mixture smells incredible! Set aside one tablespoon for later โ€“ youโ€™ll brush this on after baking for extra flavor.
  2. Prepare the rolls (3 minutes): Carefully slice your slider rolls horizontally, keeping the bottom halves connected. This creates a base thatโ€™s easy to fill. Place the bottom portion in your baking dish.
  3. Add the ranch base (1 minute): Brush ranch dressing over the bottom rolls. Donโ€™t go too heavy โ€“ you want flavor without making them soggy. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes if you like a tiny kick.
  1. Layer the fillings (5 minutes): Hereโ€™s where it gets good! Evenly distribute the chopped chicken over the rolls. Next, sprinkle the bacon pieces on top. Add your tomato slices, then cover everything with shredded cheese. The cheese acts like glue to hold everything together.

  1. Top and brush (2 minutes): Place the top half of the rolls over your filled sliders. Now brush that amazing garlic butter mixture all over the tops. Make sure to get the edges โ€“ they get extra crispy and delicious!

  1. First bake (10 minutes): Pop them in the oven uncovered. This initial bake starts melting the cheese and crisping the tops.
  2. Cover and finish (5 minutes): Gently place aluminum foil over the sliders. This prevents over-browning while ensuring the cheese melts completely and everything heats through.

  1. Final touches (1 minute): Remove from oven and brush with that reserved garlic butter. Sprinkle fresh parsley on top for color and a fresh flavor pop.

The smell alone will have everyone gathering in the kitchen! Let them cool for just a minute before serving โ€“ that cheese is hot!

How to Store It

These sliders are best fresh, but they store surprisingly well if you have leftovers (which is rare in my house!).

Room Temperature: Donโ€™t leave assembled sliders out for more than 2 hours for food safety.

Refrigerator Storage: Store leftover sliders in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Wrap them individually in foil to maintain freshness.

Freezer Storage: While I havenโ€™t personally frozen these, you can wrap individual sliders tightly in aluminum foil and freeze for up to 1 month. Thaw overnight in the fridge before reheating.

Reheating: The best way to reheat is in a 350ยฐF oven for 10-15 minutes, wrapped in foil. Add fresh tomatoes after reheating to avoid sogginess. You can also use an air fryer at 350ยฐF for 3-5 minutes for extra crispy tops.

How to Serve It

These chicken bacon ranch sliders are incredibly versatile! Here are my favorite ways to serve them:

As a Main Dish: Serve 2-3 sliders per person with a simple green salad or coleslaw. They make a complete meal thatโ€™s satisfying but not too heavy.

Party Appetizer: Cut each slider in half for bite-sized portions. Arrange on a platter with toothpicks for easy serving at parties.

Game Day Spread: These are perfect alongside other finger foods like wings, chips and dip, and veggie platters. Theyโ€™re easy to eat while watching the game!

Kid-Friendly Dinner: Serve with sweet potato fries or regular fries. Kids love the mini sandwich size โ€“ perfect for little hands!

The sliders are best served warm when the cheese is still melty. If serving at a party, you can keep them warm in a low oven (200ยฐF) covered with foil.

Notes

โ— What else can I add to the sliders?
You can add caramelized onions, lettuce, or even fresh avocado.
โ— What is the best chicken for the sliders?
You can make chicken for the sliders, but make sure you season the chicken well. I really like using rotisserie chicken because it has so much flavor, or you can use leftover chicken.
โ— What is an easy way to add bacon to the recipe?
You can use pre-cooked bacon and pop it in the air fryer for 2-3 minutes at 350ยฐ F or until crispy and crumbly.
โ— What goes with the sliders?
You can serve a side salad, French fries, or as an appetizer at your next get-together.
โ— How Do I Store The Leftovers?
You can keep sliders in the fridge for up to 3 days. I have never frozen the sliders, but online I have found that you can wrap them in aluminum foil. You can then heat them up at 350ยฐ F. for 10-15 minutes. I would add the tomatoes to the sandwiches after they have been heated up.
Oh my! Donโ€™t we all love a good slider? Sliders are so fun because if you donโ€™t have all the ingredients, you can add whatever you have on hand.
โ— Donโ€™t overcook the sliders, as the tops will get too hard.
โ— Also, donโ€™t overcook the bacon. You just want it to be crumbly.
