If you love a cool and creamy pie and a good margarita, youโll love this quick and easy Frozen Margarita Pie with pretzel crust. This boozy dessert is just like your favorite frozen margarita but in a pie.

Whether you are celebrating a holiday or just need a cold treat on a hot summer day, this pie is the perfect grown-up solution guests and friends will find delightful and unique.
Thereโs nothing like a cool and creamy pie especially if itโs easy to make and can even be a no-bake pie. Boozy pies like this one and our Raspberry Daiquiri Pie are fun to make and serve. However, we canโt always serve boozy pies thatโs when we turn to other favorites such as our Chocolate Cheesecake Pie, Lemon Ice Box Pie, and our cool and creamy Angel Food Pie.
Magic Margarita Pie Recipe
The reason we love this pie is because itโs cool and refreshing. You donโt need a celebration to make this pie. Itโs perfectly luscious for any time, especially in those warm days when a frozen dessert is so refreshing. And, it really does taste like margaritas. If you like margaritas, youโre going to love this pie!
We love the crunch of the salty-sweet pretzel crust in contrast to the smooth and creamy boozy filling. You donโt need a celebration to serve this pie because a slice is like a party all by itself. Itโs a party on a pie plate!
Ingredients
Please note, that the printable recipe card has the full list of ingredients, quantities, complete instructions, and nutritional information. The following is a quick overview of the recipe.

Crust Ingredients
Finely Crushed Pretzels. While we love the saltiness of the pretzels, you could use crushed graham crackers or cookies instead. If you need gluten-free pie, the GF pretzels will work perfectly fine.
Melted Butter. We use real butter in this recipe. You can use salted or unsalted.
Brown Sugar. We prefer dark brown sugar but itโs interchangeable with light brown sugar.
Filling Ingredients
Sweetened Condensed Milk. Do not confuse this with evaporated milk. They are not the same thing.
Limeade. This is from concentrate and can be found in the frozen juice section of your grocery store.
Tequila.ย I used blanco, the clear tequila. Itโs less expensive than other varieties and thereโs no reason to use a costly tequila. My rule is that if you can drink it you can use it in recipes. If itโs not something youโd drink, donโt buy it.
Triple-Sec.ย Or any orange-flavored liquor.
Heavy Whipping Cream. We use full-fat cream. The additional fat adds a smooth and creamy richness to the recipe. Weโve never attempted to use a Whipped cream topping such as Cool Whip.
Green Food Coloring makes this pie pop. You can make it as green as you want.
How to Make Margarita Pie
Make the Pretzel Crust
Preheat the oven. Combine crushed pretzels, melted butter, and brown sugar together in a bowl. Lightly grease a 9-inch pie plate and press the pretzel mixture into the bottom and up the sides. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Allow the crust to cool completely before filling.
Prepare the Filling
Whip 1 cup of the heavy whipping cream until peaks form. Set it aside.

Hostess Tips
You may find that running a sharp knife through hot water and then drying it off makes clean and precise slices.
Do not serve the pie before it is fully frozen.
Chilling your plates in the freezer for ten minutes or so will help the pie melt more slowly once it is served.
This pie can be a no-bake pie using a purchased graham cracker crust.
Substitutes for alcohol: There is non-alcoholic tequila, or you can use an equal amount of limeade instead of alcohol for a more family-friendly version. However, I recommend choosing another one of our delicious pies if youโre obtaining from alcohol.

My Inspiration for this Recipe
I came across this recipe for Magic Margarita Pie in my Mother-In-Lawโs recipe box. I knew it had to come from a friend or publication because this isnโt something she would have developed, but after searching didnโt find this version. This Margarita Pie has more booze in it than the ones that I was able to find. Maybe thatโs why itโs called Magic Margarita Pie!

This is absolutely the best desert ever !!! Hands down !! You will love it !!
Thank you so much, Cate!
I am ready to make the pie. Can I just leave it in the freezer until I am ready to serve it? It might be in there 24 hours. Does that sound ok? Thanks so much!!!!
You absolutely can, Alexis! Thank you for your question. I hope you’ll let me know what you think of it.
I am making mine in a sheet cake pan for a large crowd. Should I spray the pan before I put the pretzel crust in? Also, I read in a similar recipe that hers was to runny. What would be the cause of this and how to avoid it.
Jeanne
Hi Jeanne! I would definitely spray the bottom of your pan. As long as you use this recipe it shouldn’t be runny. Just allow plenty of time for it to set up. I’m not sure what recipe you’re looking at but I can only think that they’re using too much liquid (booze). Let me know how it goes! Thanks for stopping by! Jule
