Iโm not going to waste a special treat on something that isnโt delicious. A bite of a Butterscotch Pecan Bars with Brown Sugar Drizzle is a great treat!

Even though I post a lot of yummy dessert recipes, we usually limit them to Sundays. On Sunday John and I make a special meal together and finish it with a sweet treat. After a serving or two, we share the rest. These Butterscotch Pecanย Bars with Brown Sugar Drizzle definitely earned the โSunday Specialโ designation.

When I make something and it doesnโt deserve that โspecialโ designation, Iโll remake it or scrap the entire thing and you wonโt see them here on Hostess At Heart.
I always want to hit it the first time around because I hate wasting food and ingredients. Iโve tried a few recipes on the world wide web, and sometimes theyโre amazing and other timesย they just arenโt very good in myย opinion. That always disappointing (sad face inserted here).

Most of our favorites usually start and end in chocolate and John and I donโt always like nuts. Weโre not in loveย with nuts in brownies and a few other recipes but when it comes to pecans as one of the starย ingredients you can sign both of us up.
These Butterscotch Pecan Bars are so easy to put together and deserve the โSunday Specialโ designation. They make an 8โณ square pan so you donโt have so darned much that itโs hard to get rid of.

Now I have to fess up, we enjoyed (demolished) this special treat until everyย last crumb was gone. Hey, thatโs what the gym is for right?

Wow, just made this, it is absolutely amazing!! Kind of reminds me of a sticky toffee pudding. Very easy to make but feels like you spent hours on it. Highly recommend would definitely make it again! Everyone loved it

Could you clarify the flour measurement? It says 1 cup flour 1/4. I’m thinking maybe th 1/4 goes on the next line (salt). Thank you!

Oooo you’ve really come up with some great “bar type recipes”, squares, or whatever else you wanna call them ๐ I’m in my baking phase right now, as I’m sure you are. I’d love to make at least one of the “bars” that you’ve been recently posting. However, I’d like to freeze them as I have so much cooking and baking to do at the moment. How do you think they would freeze Julie?
Happy Holidays Loretta! I’m getting so excited to have my kids here this weekend. You could definitely freeze any of these bars. I would remove them from the pan and double wrap them in plastic then foil. That’s what I do with my extra bread and it works really well. Enjoy yourself and let me know what you decide to make.
